But when ye shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing where it ought not, “let him that readeth understand,” then let them that be in Judaea flee to the mountains: And let him that is on the housetop not go down into the house, neither enter therein, to take any thing out of his house: And let him that is in the field not turn back again for to take up his garment. But woe to them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days! Mark 13:14-17

The Jewish people have not had a temple in Jerusalem since the Herodian temple was destroyed by the Romans in 70 A.D. The temple is to the Jews what the Vatican is to the Catholics. They will rebuild their temple- it is prophesied. But it seems to be just as important to other purveyors of the occult. The Judaism of today is more akin to kabbalah than it is to the faith of Abraham and Moses. If they build it- he will come. (anti-christ)
Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come- except there come a falling away first- and that man of sin be revealed- the son of perdition; Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God- or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God- shewing himself that he is God. Remember ye not- that- when I was yet with you- I told you these things? II Thessalonians 2:3-5
When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation- spoken of by Daniel the prophet- stand in the holy place- (whoso readeth- let him understand:) Matthew 24:15
And arms shall stand on his part- and they shall pollute the sanctuary of strength- and shall take away the daily sacrifice- and they shall place the abomination that maketh desolate. Daniel 11:31
There are nearly as many theories on the historical location of the temple as there are denominations in christianity. I am no expert on such things and- considering the debate- apparently no one else is either. What I do know is that there will be a temple during the time of antichrist. Whether or not it is ultimately built on the right spot is unimportant. The temple that they will build is a counterfeit; it holds no significance with God. The Lord Jesus Christ raised the true temple nearly 2000 years ago.

Jerusalem Special Report - The Building of the Third Temple
Straight from the horses mouth- devil worshippers admit Easter celebration and the veneration of Mary came from the cult of Diana in Ephesus. The information in question is about halfway down the linked page. This is the site of a pagan satanic cult. Unless you are spiritually secure - I suggest you not spend much time there. Note that the statue of Diana Lucifera looks much like the Statue of Liberty - torch in hand.
After these things were ended- Paul
purposed in the spirit- when he had passed through Macedonia and
Achaia- to go to Jerusalem- saying- After I have been there- I must
also see Rome. So he sent into Macedonia two of them that ministered
unto him- Timotheus and Erastus; but he himself stayed in Asia for a
season. And the same time there arose no small stir about that way.
For a certain man named Demetrius- a silversmith- which made silver
shrines for Diana- brought no small gain
unto the craftsmen; Whom he called together with the workmen of like
occupation- and said- Sirs- ye know that by this craft we have our
wealth. Moreover ye see and hear- that not alone at
Ephesus- but almost throughout all Asia-
this Paul hath persuaded and turned away much people- saying that
they be no gods- which are made with hands: So that not only this our
craft is in danger to be set at nought; but also that
the temple of the great goddess Diana
should be despised- and her magnificence should be destroyed- whom
all Asia and the world worshippeth. And when they heard these
sayings- they were full of wrath- and cried out- saying- Great
is Diana of the Ephesians. And the
whole city was filled with confusion: and having caught Gaius and
Aristarchus- men of Macedonia- Paul’s companions in travel- they
rushed with one accord into the threatre. And when Paul would have
entered in unto the people- the disciples suffered him not. And
certain of the chief of Asia- which were his friends- sent unto him-
desiring him that he would not adventure himself into the theatre.
Some therefore cried one thing- and some another: for the assembly
was confused; and the more part knew not wherefore they were come
together. And they drew Alexander out of the multitude- the Jews
putting him forward. And Alexander beckoned with the hand- and would
have made his defence unto the people. But when they knew that he
was a Jew- all with one voice abut the space of two hours cried out-
Great is Diana of the Ephesians. And
when the townclerk had appeased the people- he said- Ye men of
Ephesus- what man is there that knoweth
not how that the city of the Ephesians
is a worshipper of the great goddess Diana- and the image which fell down from Jupiter? Seeing then
that these things cannot be spoken against- ye ought to be quite- and
to do nothing rashly. For ye have brought hither these men- which
are neither robbers of churches- nor yet blasphemers of your
goddess. Wherefore if Demetrius- and
the craftsmen which are with him- have a matter against any man- the
law is open- and there are deputies: let them implead one another.
But if ye enquire any thing concerning other matters- it shall be
determined in a lawful assembly. For we are in danger to be called
in question for this day’s uproar- there being no cause whereby we
may give an account of this concourse. And when he had thus spoken-
he dismissed the assembly. Acts 19:21-41
